Women Hold Up Half the Sky – Opens Thursday
Do not miss the upcoming show, Women Hold Up Half The Sky at the Skirball Cultural Center, co-designed by Frederick Fisher and Partners Architects. We hope you have a chance to see this important exhibition, opening this Thursday, October 27th through March 11th, 2012.
Inspired by the critically acclaimed book Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, this exhibition addresses gender equality as the human rights cause of our time. Confronting the malign persistence of sex trafficking, gender-based violence, and maternal mortality, the exhibition tells stories of women from around the globe who have changed their lives through education, economics, and self-determination.
Experience these tales of perseverance, courage, and hope—and celebrate how individuals can be part of workable solutions.
